Good Questions, Straight Answers

What should I have ready for the appointment?

Have these ready — and please don't sign anything ahead of time, since signatures happen in front of the notary:

  • Your unsigned documents
  • A current, unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Every signer present
How much does it cost?

New Jersey sets the notarial fee by law — no matter how many stamps a package needs:

  • $2.50 — standard notarization
  • $15 flat — real-estate deed transfer
  • $25 flat — mortgage or refinance signing

Mobile visits add a separate travel fee based on your location and time; online signings have no travel fee, just a small platform fee. Either way, you get one clear, all-in quote up front — no surprises at the table.

How soon can you come out — do you offer same-day appointments?

Often, yes. Weekday evenings after 5 PM and weekends are K10 Notary's normal hours, and same-day or next-day appointments are frequently available. Call or text for the fastest response.

Can you notarize my documents online?

Yes. K10 Notary is an NJ-approved Remote Online Notary and performs Remote Online Notarizations (RON) by secure video — you sign from your phone, tablet, or computer, with no travel or printer needed. It's ideal for out-of-state signers, busy schedules, or anyone who'd rather not meet in person.

What do I need for an online notarization?

You'll need:

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera
  • A stable internet connection
  • A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Your document

You'll answer a few identity-verification questions, confirm your ID on screen, then sign live on video. Most sessions take about 15–20 minutes.

Do you notarize for signers outside New Jersey?

Yes. Because K10 Notary is physically located in New Jersey, online signings are available for signers located anywhere in the United States. Signers overseas — including military families — are often possible too; just ask.

Are online notarizations legal and accepted?

Yes. New Jersey permanently authorized Remote Online Notarization in 2021, and a properly performed online notarization is legally valid — the same as an in-person, ink-and-stamp one. Most lenders, courts, and agencies accept them nationwide; if your recipient has a specific requirement, K10 Notary will help you confirm before booking.

What kinds of documents can you notarize?

Common ones include:

  • Loan & refinance packages
  • Powers of attorney & affidavits
  • Deeds & vehicle titles
  • Travel-consent letters
  • Acknowledgments, jurats & oaths

A notary verifies identity and witnesses signatures — your document or your recipient decides which notarial act you need, since a notary can't give legal advice.

Can you notarize at a hospital or care facility?

Yes — bedside signings at hospitals, senior living communities, rehab centers, and correctional facilities are a regular part of the week. The signer must be alert and willing, and families get clear guidance on what to prepare.

Do I need witnesses?

Some documents require one or two witnesses. K10 Notary can tell you in advance and, when possible, help arrange them. To keep the notarization impartial, the notary generally won't also serve as your witness.

Is there anything a notary can't do?

A notary can't:

  • Give legal advice or choose which notarial act you need
  • Notarize without the signer present (in person or by approved live video)
  • Notarize for a signer who doesn't understand or willingly sign
  • Make certified copies of vital records like birth certificates
When are appointments available?

Weekday evenings after 5 PM and anytime on weekends, by appointment — in person across South Jersey or online anywhere in the U.S.

Do you work with title companies and signing services?

Yes — K10 Notary is an NNA Certified Signing Agent: background-screened, $100,000 E&O insured, and comfortable with e-docs, scanbacks, and tight closing windows.
